She recently completed her student teaching at Mount Nittany Middle School in the State College Area School District. She worked exclusively in a sixth-grade classroom, where she taught math and science toa diverse group of students. During her sixth-grade assignment, Ms. Anderson displayed many qualities important to the teaching profession From the start of her time with us, Ms. Anderson became an integral part of our classroom. She had an instant rapport with the students and did not hesitate to take on any task given to her. Not a day went by where she did not take the time to make her students feel like they were a valuable part of the classroom and school community. Asa student teacher, Sarah displayed poise, confidence, and professionalism during her time at Mount Nittany. She was able to quickly observe the structure and routine of the classroom and took on many responsibilities with ease and confidence. Her lesson plans were well thought out and executed. Sarah used a variety of delivery methods to keep her students highly engaged and involved from the start to the end of class each day. She demonstrated good judgment in her daily instructional decisions and was able to easily adapt her teaching and instruction to the variety of student needs that were present in our classroom. During her time at Mount Nittany, Ms. Anderson utilized various methods for evaluating. student progress and understanding. Through the use of daily warmups, exit tickets, informal check-ins, {group work, and formal assessments, she was able to evaluate her students’ progress in order meet their educational needs. | truly feel that the time Ms. Anderson spent in our classroom was educationally productive for the students. Ms, Anderson has great enthusiasm and a positive outlook toward education and children. She respected her students and was always willing to spend extra time with those who needed additional support. Her attentiveness to her students, coupled with her caring manner, led the students to trust, and accept her as their teacher. | truly believe that Sarah will be an excellent teacher at any level. She has the ability and potential required to be successful and it has been a pleasure working with her.
