Wind load
The site in a town, 175km from the sea. The fundamental basic wind speed should be taken as
22m/sec
1 1
Iv(z) = × 19.5 = 0.1676
1 In( )
0.05
1
qp(z) = [1+7 ∙Iv(z)] ∙ 2 ∙ρ∙ 𝑣 2(𝑍)

= [1+7×0.1676 ]× 2 × 1.25 × 222=0.657KN/𝑚2
wind load
W= qp(z)* Cpe = 0.657* [0.8-(-0.5)]*=0.85 KN/𝑚2
Load path
Slab
The structural function of a flat slab is to support vertical loads with a suitable factor of safety
and transfer these into the supporting columns and shear walls. Transverse loads may be
resisted either by their transfer through the slab to shear walls (or core structures), or by
frame action between the slab and columns (and/or shear walls).
Flat slab with drops is economical for more heavily-loaded spans from 5m to 10m for office
buildings, hospitals, hotels, etc. Therefore, solid flat slab with drop panel was used.
In order to establish that punching shear reinforcement will not be excessive, the initial check
may assume Vrd,c = 0.7MPa for f,ck = 30MPa
Shear force
Column
Assume the size of column is 600mm*600mm.
