1. Feeling my way toward this topic was hard because there are so many things that I study in
other classes and there are so many things that I am interested in learning about. Overall, what
lead me to this topic was thinking about things that I have always wondered about.
2. How does having role models affect young women growing up? – How does it affect minority
women? How does it affect women with disabilities?
3. I am interested in this topic because it is something that I can relate too. I believe that it is
important to have someone to look up to that looks like you. I know that growing up I often
compared to my classmates because since I didn’t have a put together mother to look up to,
there were so many things that I didn’t understand.
4. I plan to look into the things bulleted above to make sure that my research not only delves into
women as role models but also splits into role models of different ethnicities and religions.
