Build Relationships – Setting Priorities

First of all, it is on the supervisor to disseminate the workload properly. Since it is said on
the case that Yuan was given a major project, he should focus on it. If he continued to handle the
situation as he currently is, the project will be delayed. Worse, the outcome of the project will be
compromised.

Yuan can manage his time more effectively by talking to his boss. He could’ve talked to her in the
first place, at the time that Ms. Bradwell asked him to troubleshoot the system. Yuan should
explain why Ms. Bradwell needs to hire someone to do the troubleshooting having said that Yuan
is working on a major project.

Since there is only 4 weeks left for him to finish the project, he should first disregard his plans of
taking a vacation and just do it once he finishes his task. He could also ask Ms. Bradwell for an
extension since she was a factor why Yuan is having a hard time to finish the given project.
