‘To Whom it May Concern,
it ismy pleasure to write ths letter of recommendation on behalf of Joanna Tomas fora New
Graduate RN position in your organization. Joanna was a student in my hid semester, advanced
‘medical/surgical acute care nursing, clinical course, Joanna was a model student who consistently
surpassed my expectations pishng herself to learn and grow inthe nursing profession. Joanna is a
smart compassionate, and hardworking individual whois dedicated to giving the highest quality care
to her patients and families
During clinical Joanna was avays on time and prepared forthe day. n post-conferences,
she was an active paticipantin discussions regarding patient care, EBP models, casestudies, and skill
reviews. The comprehensive care plans she submitted demonstrated her ablity to put together the
whole picture of her patient’ hspitalzation including dsease process, co-morbidity involvement,
related medications and labs.and most importantly, the priority nursing interventions to treat her
patient holistically. Joanna hed the ability to care for her assigned patients with minimal guidance but
would ask appropriate and fecused questions showing heretical thinking when she encountered
something unfamiliar. | routinely received postive remarks from nursing staf, patients, and families
avout Joanna's postive atitede and the wompassionate care sie provided
Joanna has also shown a commitment tothe health and wellbeing of her community,
volunteering her personal time, during a rigorous nursing program. She has volunteered with the
{UofA Campus pantry and the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation, She has further assisted her fellow
students serving as a tutor at the SALT Center, providing a 3-hour Chemistry tutoring session for Pre-‘THE UNIVERSITY 1305 tan ae

nursing studentsin the UofA Arizona Nursing Inclusive Excellence program, and served asa Peer

Many students would ind it difficult to balance such a rigorous university program of study
with work and volunteering Eut Joanna has managed al that and has received academic accolades in
‘the process. In Apri 2019, Joanna willbe formally inducted into the prestigious Sigma Theta Tau
Intemational Honor Society ef Nursing. This isan invitation only honor society for the top performing
students in a university's school of nursing and the University of Arizona College of Nursing is
particularly high achieving program thus making the performance requirement for invitation that
much greater
Now that Joanna is almost done with her nursing program, she is searching for a New
Graduate RN position that wil give her the best posible start to her career. know Joanna wll be an
integral member of the healtscare team and, with time, develop into a role model and leader for her
colleagues. | strongly recommend Joanna Tomas be considered for a New Graduate RN position in
your organization, Please fee! free to contact me for any further questions, thank you.
