Dyad Reading of the two texts- each pair shall be given one copy of each text.

While one reads The Empty Pot, the other reads the Emperor’s New Clothes,
then vice versa.

2. Continuation of Dyad Work. Each pair shall discuss what they have read
by comparing and contrasting the narrative elements in both texts, then fill out
the Venn Diagram using the following guide questions:

Identify the following narrative elements in both stories :

Characters:
-Who are the main characters in the stories? How are they similar and different from
one another/ each other?
Plot:
-What is main predicament of the main characters of each story? How is the challenge
similar and different in both texts?

Theme:

-What is the revolving idea in both stories? Is the theme similar or different in both
texts?

(Students may use separate VENN DIAGRAMS for each narrative element asked of
them.)
-Teacher shall supervise the class while each pair is busy answering the
questions.
