My class this semester covers the “3 Souths” with Dr. George Thomas. (Put challenge on the screen) This semester I'm going to challenge myself to master the art of non verbal and visual communication. Oftentimes that’s difficult considering the fact that our natural language tends to be redundant and as humans we like to provide context to make sure we got our point across. one of my biggest challenges that | faced back in high school was that | always tend to overexplain, and provide lots of context for everything | say and do. In these two forms of communication, you generally use pictures, infographics, and other nonverbal cues, therefore to overcome this challenge you need to master the art of getting your point across without using any words at all. ©) Pictures really are worth a million words because they depict everything that we want to describe. (Show picture drawing with corresponding words being written) Infographics allow us use data points and aesthetically pleasing graphics, ultimately enabling us to make logical connections and relationships between things.
