Teaching Demonstration
Objective (s):
Students will be read a book out loud and be able to understand the unfamiliar words
and practice ways to use them in a sentence.
Learning Outcomes: (What do you expect students to master as a result of your lesson?)
I would like the students to learn how to put a word into a context that makes sense to
them and to be able to apply it into a sentence.
Instructional Procedures:
Note paper and pencils will be distributed to students. The students will listen as you
read the book to them. You will then mention some words they may not know or be
familiar with. Taking one word at a time, you will explain the word to them in a way they
will understand the meaning behind it. The students will then need to incorporate it in a
sentence, giving them an example sentence will help them get an idea on how to
complete this part. They will then write down the word again to remember it.
Materials:
Note paper
Pencils
By engaging the students in the lesson and asking questions will help in making sure
they are grasping what you are teaching. Another way to ensure they understand would
be to come by and look at their sentences and words written and make sure everyone is
on the same page.
