Philosophy of Education

As a teacher, I will devote myself to my students. Students come to school to

learn and develop. However students need to feel welcome, and comfortable in class to

get the best education they can. As a teacher, devoting myself to my students, I will

strive to teach them the best I can, and make them feel comfortable in class. Being a

teacher will give me the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life and to be able

to help them learn what they need to learn.

Personally, growing up in school, I have had many teachers that have achieved

this through making personal connections with all the students in the class and making

a safe space for students to say how they feel. I will never forget my favorite teacher

who would sense my hard day and talk to me after class in elementary school. Having

a teacher to talk to was important and I felt that school was a safer place for me

because of it.

I believe that teachers should have the following qualities; a teacher should be

understanding, helpful and caring. A teacher who shows all these qualities will do their

best to give their students the basic needs they need in class. Children learn gradually.

It is important you have balance between learning, fun in the classroom, and

connections between students. I believe that a good learning environment is one where

a teacher can teach what she is suppose to teach and have students feeling

comfortable to be engaged with the class and their learning.

Becoming a teacher will test me to be my best self and I’m making a difference in

the students lives. I will strive to teach with good sense and make sure that my methods

of teaching are ones that my students will understand and enjoy.
