Yes Pluto Is a Planet

Everyone debate if Pluto is a Planet and the proof is all in this essay. The author David Grinspoon

and Alan Stern wrote the article to discuss over the issue if Pluto is a planet. During the first page of his

article he tries to use your emotion by telling you about the New Horizon. It is known to be the fastest

spaceship to have ever been made. It is sent up to Pluto to take pictures to identify it more. They talk

about how each one of them are scientist and how their career is to figure out about what things are in

space. They decided to add both ethos and pathos in the first page of the article. In overall Logos is what

most showed me in the article of Pluto being a planet.

What are the things that involve in our galaxy? There is Mercury, Venues, Earth, Mars, Jupiter,

Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. The first 8 big worlds in front of the sun are known planets because

of their traits and features. Each one of them are as big as earth or even a lot bigger. The planet as a moon

that orbits around its atmosphere or layer. Each planet are strength in size which makes them known as a

huge world so that is why they are called planets. So that is where the debate of Pluto being considered as

a planet. It has a unique trait but the only problem is that it is too small to be considered as a planet. The

current size its radius is 736 miles, which is consider too small to be a planet. As a comparison Earth’s

radius is 3,959 miles, almost 6 times its size. The current size Pluto is in looks more like a meteor then a

planet. The international Astronomical Union made an announcement about the definition of a planet. It’s

where it has specific traits where the rock is located and whether the rock orbits around the sun. Pluto fits

those categories so that makes it a planet. Logos is used most in this article.
 In conclusion, the article goes on persuading the reader, Pluto is a planet and it orbits around the

sun like any other planet in the solar system. They try to use all rhetorical appeal in each paragraph by

saying they are a scientist so you have to believe them. They have a new super-fast rocket that has been

made to check out Pluto and take pictures. Using the fact that Pluto orbits around the sun like any other

planet, makes it a planet. This article by David Grinspoon and Alan Stern made is to persuade the reader

that Pluto is a planet.
