The Turkmenistan, Afghanistan
,Pakistan and India(TAPI)gas pipeline is, undeniably, one of the biggest energy projects in the region. The total length of the pipeline is 1814 kilometers. Turkmenistan 214Km, in Afghanistan 774 Km and Pakistan has 826 Km and last destination of the TAPI is fazilka which lies in India. The project is planned for 30 years and with the total estimate amounting to $9.9billion.The pipeline has the capacity to supply 33billion cubic meter of gas from the world fourth largest natural gas reserves in Daulatabad (Turkmenistan). Pakistan and India will receive 42% each of them and Afghanistan will receive 16% . Moreover 5.22 B cm of gas annually. Afghanistan can also receive transit benefit from these project which is estimated approximately $400 million revenue. The construction work on the section of Turkmenistan section was started in 2015,Afghanistan section work was started on February 23 2018.the ceremonial session was attented by the president Ashraf Ghani and Turkmen president , prime minister of Pakistan and Indian minister of state for external affair. TAPI has the potential to solve the energy needs and woes Pakistan and India. TAPI can brought prosperity for the regions but side by side there are a lot of hurdle due to new great game in these region. There are many regional and international players who are not happy from these project.
