NAME
For each category of initial and response posts, the following standards and points apply:
35 – 40 points Achieves all of the criteria 20 – 29 points Achieves 3 of the criteria
30 – 34 points Achieves 4 of the criteria Less than 20 points Achieves less than 3 of the criteria

INITIAL POST – 40% of total grade
Initial post includes:
 All components of the discussion question
 Knowledge of concepts with significant depth and breadth
 Critical reasoning and insights that examine the content
 Examples of professional practice demonstrating application of concepts of the discussion question
Evidence from current (within 5 years) peer-reviewed resources
RESPONSE POSTS – 40% of total grade
Substantive response post includes:
 Critical analysis of concepts that expand the discussion
 Original insights on the topics discussed
 Examples of professional practice that support the concepts in the discussion
 Evidence from current (within 5 years) peer-reviewed resources
 Expected number of responses*

APA/PRESENTATION FORMAT – 20% of total grade
Writing, Grammar, Professional Presentation (10%)
 Academic and scholarly tone is used, with avoidance of slang and colloquial expressions
 Correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation are used
 Organization of content is clear and follows a logical progression
References and Citations (10%)
 In-text citations and all references are correctly composed in APA format
 Retrieval information is provided for journal and web-based references
 All citations appear on reference list and all references are cited in posts
Attendance and Participation Requirement (per Course Syllabus)
