I have the pleasure of completing my internship hours at the Fellowship Home at

Meriwether. This establishment is a higher end assisted living home, something I have never

experienced before. This week I worked everyday for 8 hours a day from 8-4:30. On Monday,

01/14/19, we took a tour of the Fellowship home and went to each department. This day was

spent mostly trying to meet all of the staff and understand the roles each department carries out.

Today was basically an orientation day for us to understand how this business runs. I worked a

total of 8 hours today, not including lunch. On Tuesday, 01/15/19 I got a chance to shadow the

staff nurse. I began my morning serving the patients breakfast and gathering the dirty dishes

when they were through. When the nurse arrive I went to his office and shadowed him for the

day. I learned about the pharmacy and the correct and legal way to store and medication for the

patients. This day as very interesting because I learned an exceptional amount. I worked a total

of 8 hours, not including lunch. On Wednesday, 01/16/19, I completed different tasks. When I

arrived there was a surprise baby shower for one of the employees. I spent the morning blowing

up balloons and setting up for the baby shower. After these tasks were complete, I was able to

attend the baby shower and meet some of the staff I had not met before. After that was over I,

along with my fellow interns took it all down. I then learned the responsibilities of the front desk

employee, such as taking calls and filing paper work on the residence. I also had the opportunity

to call out bingo from 3-4 for the residents. I worked a total of 8 hours today, not including

lunch. Thursday, 01/17/19 I started the day by helping set up and clean up after breakfast. I then

attended a devotional hosted every morning for the residents. After this I went with the residents

and one of the instructors to Kroger to help them get the groceries they needed. After this I then

did some paper work and filing to help out the administration office. I also helped a resident set

up an echo dot in her room, and got to know a little bit about her life story. I worked a total of 8

hours this day not including lunch. I thought Friday would never come, but 01/18/19 was a good

day. I started the day as usually helping with breakfast, then went to devotional with the

residents. This was a special day because it was happy hour at 4 for the residents. I was able to

serve the residents drinks and snacks while talking to them. I worked a total of 8 hours, not

including lunch. I worked a total of 40 hours this week. I enjoyed this week, it did not feel like

an internship because I enjoyed it so much. I learned so much about how this business operates

and a lot about the residents. This semester is going to be an awesome experience and I cannot

wait to see what the next weeks hold.

I was excited to return to Fellowship Home after having a long weekend. Our supervisor

was amazing and gave us Martin Luther King Jr. day off. So my week began on Tuesday,

01/22/19. I got into work at 8 and left at 4:15. I started my morning out as every morning and

helped serve the residents food and helped clean the dishes off for the kitchen staff to wash. My

fellow interns along with my self helped serve a tea party for the residents. We helped set the

food up and clean all the cups, saucers, and tea pitchers. The girls set up flower arrangements.

As this seems like a normal childhood girl’s normal day. The women absolutely loved it. It was

awesome to see them all smile and laugh. After the party was over we took everything down and

washed all the tea cups that were used. Then we rearranged the front table display. This day

was a very relaxed day spending time with the residents. I worked a total of 8 hours this day, not

including lunch. On Wednesday, 01/23/19, I started my day as usual. I helped with breakfast

and helped clean it up. We all met with the activity directors to discuss some ideas we had about

implicating health strategies to the residents throughout the week. We also discussed some ideas

for our major project for this internship. The Activity directors loved all of our ideas so we

started to plan dates to make it all happen. We then went to Walmart to help the residents gather

the things that they needed. I really like doing this because it gives you a chance to connect with

the residents. After this I was fortunate enough to call bingo. I called bingo and messed up 4

times or more. I did not know there was a specific way to call bingo, but apparently there is. It

was funny and the residents said they enjoyed it and enjoyed the laughs. I worked from 9 to

4:15. I worked 7 hours, not including lunch. Thursday, 01/24/19 I came in at 9 again. Today I

attended a menu review that the residents attended. After this I filed papers until lunch. I helped

serve and clean up for lunch. After this Cheyenne, another intern, and myself delivered the mail

to the residents. It was very chaotic because the mail that was given us was not in order and not

by hallway. Needless to say we had to go to the same room several times. I then went and

helped a resident stain a desk that had a few chips in it. I left around 4, so I worked 7 hours

today, not including lunch. Friday,01/25/19, I arrived at 10. To begin with I helped a couple of

residents move a couple of items they could not move in their rooms. My fellow interns and I

started to plan events we are going to create. I called bingo again and it went more smoothly this

time. After bingo I helped serve at happy hour where residents were greeted with drinks and

snacks. I left today at 5:30, so I worked 7 hours no including lunch. I worked 29 hours this

week, giving me 69 hours total. After this week I felt like I was in a good place. I was very

comfortable with my environment and found myself looking at life the way these residents do. I

cannot wait to see what next week holds.

On Monday, January 28, I woke up with a stomach bug. With that being said I did not go

to my site that day because I would I did not want it to spread to the staff, or the residence. The

residence have a higher chance of getting sick because of their weaker immune systems. So I

took the day off to try to get well. I returned on Tuesday, January 29. I started my day at 8:30,

where I began to serve breakfast. After breakfast was complete, I Helped stain a resident’s desk.

She had a desk that was chipped because it was her mothers, so I bought some stain from Lowes

and fixed it up for her. She absolutely loved it and bragged on it to all the other residents. This

made me feel good because it was miniscule amount of work for happiness for someone else. I

also attending an activity where the residents made bird feeders. The residents absolutely loved

this craft, they were all so excited. Cheyenne, Alex, and I started talking abut our project should

be a Health fair. This was our project leaving at the end of the day. I worked 8 hours today, not

including lunch. On Wednesday, January 30, I began the day with helping with breakfast again.

This is something I do most every morning. I then helped a resident put bird seed into her feeds

and hang the one up that she made the day before. Cheyenne and I delivered mail, and had a

little bit of an issue because the mail was all out of order. After this I called out Bingo to the

residents again. It went a lot soother than the first time. All the residents laughed and loved it.

After this Lauren then talked to us for a need for a daycare for the worker’s kids. After we heard

this idea and though it over, we decided to use this as our project. We immediately started

looking into this. I worked a total of 8 hours today not including lunch. On Thursday, January

31, we decided to make healthy choice smoothies for the residents. We made 3 different

smoothies and explain what each smoothie had in them. Some residents loved it while other

residents did not. After this we helped expedite for lunch and delivered mail. I came in at 9 and

left at 4:30, I worked 7.5 hours today not including lunch. On Friday, February 1, I got in 9 at

Alex was working on a Super Bowl poster for the pregame party Sunday. We expedited food for

lunch to help out the kitchen. It was bingo day again so we all took a turn of calling a round.

Then I helped with Happy hour for a little bit. I left at 5, giving me 8 hours. I came in on the 3rd

for 3 hours to help with a super bowl party. We served the residents popcorn and snacks and

watched sports center with them. I have been enjoying my time here at the Fellowship home. I

learn a new life lesson everyday by learning from the residents. I worked a total of 33.5 hours

this week. I now have 102.5 hours all together.

I started my week on Monday February 4. I arrived at 9:30. They day began with me

helping a few residents that needed tasks done. We sat down the the two event coordinators and

tried come up with a project. After using all of our brains we decided to do our project over all

the events we are planning for the residents. Also we did an activity with the residents that

involved making paper flowers. This keeps them using their hands and is good for mental health

to have friendly interactions. The residents absolutely loved this activity. The rest of day

consisted of daily activities like carrying the mail to residents and helping with lunch. I left at

4:30, so I worked a total 7 hours this day. I started at 9 on February 5th and ended at 4:30. I

started the day doing normal activities with residents. Cheyenne and I got called to help expedite

lunch because the kitchen was short staff. Needless to say that we had a few issues because the

cooks were giving us some of the things the residents did not order. After it was all said and

done we all got a good laugh about it. I also called bingo after lunch and did not mess up this

time. I worked 7.5 hours today. On February 6th, I arrived at 8:30 to help with breakfast. We

went to the store to get the residents groceries and also get materials for the activity we had

planned on Thursday. Only one resident went with us so it did not take that long. After serving

lunch we all sat down and started making the event schedule for the next few weeks. I worked a

total of 8 hours today. On the 7th I arrived at 9. I sat in on a menu review, which is where the

residents ay what food they liked the past week and what they did not. For the activity, the

resident made wreaths for valentine’s day. The residents liked this activity as well. After this

the day consisted of helping residents. Working a total of 7 hours today. On the 8th, I arrived 9 at

left at 5, working 8 hours . The day began with devotion and then carried into bingo and happy

hour. Alex and I headed happy hour up by ourselves we did not know what to expect. It went

very well and all the residents had a great time. I cannot wait to see what next week holds. I

worked a total of 37.5 hours this week. This gives me 140 hours overall.

I was excited to see what the week at Fellowship home. On the 11th, I arrived at 9 and

left at 4. It was very usual Monday activates. One of the residents had purchased a finch and she

wanted the interns to come meet it. So we went to her room and help set up the cage to help her.

I also spent the day helping two residents switch rooms. This took a lot of time and labor but it

was all worth it because both of the residents are happy. I worked a total of 7 hours today. On

the Tuesday the 12th, I arrived at 9:30 and we started to get ready for our yogurt demonstration

foe the residents. We had fresh fruit and nuts and explained the benefits of eating each one.

This was the biggest activity we have had because the turn out was amazing. The residents

thoroughly enjoyed it. After this we started working on some smaller tasks we had to get done

for the day. After lunch I continued to help the two residents get their stuff moved in. I worked

a total of 7 hours today. On Wednesday, the 13th, We took the residents to Walmart in Eatonton

because of the norovirus going around in Milledgeville. Only one resident went but we had to

get a lot of stuff for the other residents. When we returned we helped with lunch. There was a

little mix up because the residents did not like the pie that was being served that day. After lunch

we sorted the mail and called bingo. Everything went well and I did not mess it up. I worked 7

hours today. I got in at 9 and left at 4. On Thursday, the 14th we started the day with an activity.

The residents that came had to say any type of phrase that had the word heart in it. Each phrase a

resident said, we gave them a piece of candy. They all loved this activity. We also handed out

cards to all the residents at lunch. We then went over to the memory care section and handed

them out cards and candy. They were all very excited to get something. I worked from 9 to 4, so

I worked 7 ours today. On Friday, the 15th, I arrived at 9. This day was very relaxed. We

started the day doing normal activities. We made some pamphlets for each resident about how to

avoid the norovirus. I helped with lunch and then called out bingo. I worked a total of 6 hours

today and 34 hours this week. I had a very good week and cannot wait to see what next week

holds. I have worked of 174 hours up until now.

On Monday, February 18th, I arrived at Fellowship at 9. I started out going around and

speaking to the residents and seeing how their weekend was. We started the day by doing

presidents trivia with the residents for Presidents day. The residents loved this activity. Then

Cheyenne and myself remembered we had to come up with an activity to present to the residents

on Tuesday. After racking our brains, we came up with a sugar intake activity. We made a list

of the things we needed for the presentation. We then helped with lunch. After lunch was the

famous bingo store. This is where the residents can use their bingo bucks they win from bingo to

buy items. The store includes basic hygiene items, some candy and healthy fruit snacks, and

mall things like that. The residents loved this and was happy I was able to experience this. I left

at 4, so I worked a total of 7 hours today. Tuesday, February 19th, I arrived at 9 as well. As soon

as I got there, Cheyenne and I went to Kroger to get the supplies for our activity. When we

returned we attended the menu review, this is where residents get to complain or compliment the

food from the prior week. After this we started our activity. Our activity included 5 different

juices that the residents have access to daily. We measured the amount of sugar each juice

contained and put it in a plastic bag. This informed the residents how much sugar they were

consuming throughout the day depending on how much juice they consumed. The residents

loved this activity and were so surprised how much sugar was in the juices. After helping with

lunch, we took the residents to gospel singing with a preacher that comes in weekly. I left at 4,

so I worked 7 hours today. Wednesday, February 20th, The day started with us trying to get

materials for our activity Thursday. Since it was freezing cold outside and rainy, Lauren thought

it would be best to not take the residents to Kroger. So we decided to move the art activity to

next week. After helping with lunch, I had the honor to call out bingo. Bingo went very well

except there was little confusion on the last round because more than one person had bingo. This

was a very relaxed day and I left at 4. I worked a total of 7 hours. Thursday, February 21st, I

arrived at 9. I sat at the front desk doing front desk work until it was time for lunch. I helped

with lunch then attended a birthday celebration. Each month there is cake and ice cream for

every resident celebrating the birthdays in that month. The residents always enjoy this. I then

delivered mail and returned t the front desk until 4. I worked a total of 7 hours today. On

Friday, February 22nd, I arrived at 9 as well as the rest of the week. I started out at the front desk

again because the front desk woman is on maternity leave. I helped with lunch and then called

bingo with Cheyenne. After bingo I helped with happy hour. I left at 4, working 7 hours. I

worked a total of 35 hours this week, and a total of 209 hours all semester.

I arrived at the fellowship home on Monday, February 25th. I arrived at 9 o’clock and

stayed until 4, giving me 7 hours total that day. Monday was a little chaotic. There was a staff

meeting and the owner’s wife came to the facility for it. Since everyone was to attend the staff

meeting, I had to go sit with the nurse in memory care incase she needed help. Memory care was

very relaxed today because it was after lunch so most of them were taking naps. There were

some residents awake but for the most part everyone in that section was asleep. After the

meeting I was able to scarf down some pizza provided for us before delivering the mail. After

this is went to help a resident fix her chest of drawers. On February 26th, I arrived at 8 am and

stayed until 3. Arriving at 8 I sat at the front desk for most of the morning doing front desk work

and whatever I am asked to do. Alex took over the front desk after a while and I went to help

expedite for lunch. After this I started working on some job application things at the front. On

Wednesday, the 27th, I arrived at 9 and left at 4. We were supposed to go to Kroger for the

residents, but it was a very rainy day and Lauren did not want us to take the residents out in the

rain. So we started planning an activity for next week. I help expedited lunch again, and helped

clean it up. I put birdfeed in a resident’s bird feeder. I then called out bingo with Cheyenne and

nothing went wrong. On Thursday the 28th, I came in at 8. We were lucky enough to have a

resident’s son come in and speak to the interns about jobs and how to apply. I was lucky to get

some good insight form him. After this I served lunch to the residents. After lunch I helped a

resident complete a task she needed to be done. I filed a few papers before I Left at 3. I worked

7 hours total that day. I did not work Friday because I had an orientation for a medical assistant

program I am doing. This hurt my total hours for the week, but it was something I had to get out

of the way so I could go head and start my clinical. I worked a total of 28 hours this week. I have

a total of 237 hours overall. This is crazy because I feel like I just started this internship. I

cannot wait to see what happens next week.

On Monday, March 4th, I arrived at work at 8. As soon as I arrived I started attending to

front desk duties. This included letting the administration team which residents had doctor’s

appointments scheduled for that day. I also started applying for jobs until front office workers

showed up. I stayed at the front desk for most of Monday. I was able to file papers that needed

to be filed in the front office as well. I also expedited for lunch. After all the plates were taken

out to residents, I stayed and helped clean up after they were done eating. I returned to the front

desk to organize the mail that needed to be delivered, I then delivered it to the residents. Luckily

enough, the volunteer showed up for bingo, so I did not have to call it. I also picked up a patient

from a rehabilitation gym. After this, I was able to leave. I ended up leaving at 4, working a total

of 8 hours today. On Tuesday, the 5th, I arrived at 8 again. I arrived at 8 and left at 4 everyday

this week to get more hours. I did the same thing Tuesday morning when I arrived. Attended to

front desk duties and also helped with lunch. Alex and Cheyenne had an activity planned for

Tuesday, but I was not able to attend because somebody had to stay at the front desk. It was an

Easter activity and the residents loved it from what I heard. I helped serve and clean up food,

and also did the mail. One resident had a doctor’s appointment, so I road with the driver and sat

with the resident in the appointment, until it was over. This resident has very specific needs and

somebody has to be at doctor’s appointments with this resident at all times. After I returned I

was able to leave for the day. On Wednesday, the 6th, I did the same thing as the previous

mornings. Since it was Wednesday, we took the residents to Kroger. The resident has an option

to shop alone or have us shop with them. I got asked to shop with a resident because she wanted

me too. After gathering all of the items needed we headed back. I helped serve lunch and clean

up. I called bingo on Wednesday as well. I did not mess up at all, so the residents were pleased.

I worked a total of 8 hours today as well. I arrived Thursday, the 7th, at 8 again. I did the same

responsibilities as normal. I tried to help with lunch, but my eyes kept bothering me. I was able

to take my contacts out and wear my glasses and go on with my day. I ended up leaving at 4,

giving me 8 hours total today. Unfortunately I went to the eye doctor on Friday because my eyes

were still bothering me, so I did not come into work. I worked a total of 32 hours this week with

a total of 269 hours over all.

On Monday, March 11, I arrived at 8am. I went straight to the front desk to handle the

front desk duties. As I was sitting on the front desk I was applying for jobs and searching for

jobs. I attended the morning devotion around 10:30. I then helped serve and clean up lunch. A

resident needed help fixing a cabinet, so I tried to help her. I was able to fix it temporarily, but I

knew it would not be a permanent fix. After this I delivered the mail to all the residents. I did

not have to call out bingo because the volunteer came. I left at 4, putting me at 8 hours for the

day. On the 12th, I arrived at 8 again. I did the same thing as I did the day before. I helped call

out lunch instead of serving it. I took all the to go orders to the residents that could not make it

out. I left at 4 today, putting me at 8 hours. On the 13th, I showed up at 8 again. We went to

Kroger with a few residents. The residents did not need help shopping so we got stuff for our St.

Patrick’s day themed party on Friday. After walking through the whole store trying to get the

supplies needed we finally left. When we returned, I helped serve and clean up lunch. I never

mind having to serve lunch because it gives me a chance to interact with the residents more. I

returned to the front desk until 4. I worked a total of 8 hours today. On Thursday, the 14th, I

arrived at 8 again. I did the same front desk duties as always. I was able to look and apply for

more jobs, so that was nice. There was a music therapy student that came in and sang for the

residents before lunch, the absolutely loved it. I helped serve lunch. This lunch was tough

because they were short a couple of nurses. I returned back to the front desk and stayed until 4.

I worked 8 hours today. On Friday, the 15th, I arrived at 9. I had to go to the MedTechs and get

paperwork for resident’s children and doctors. After that, I started to plan the St. Patrick’s day

party. I bagged up cookies to give to the memory are residents. After that, I went to the kitchen

to cut summer sausage and cheese. After loading up the cart, we set all the food items on a nice

table display. We made, non alcoholic green punch and had an assortment of snacks and sweets.

A resident is in a blue grass band, and the graciously played for the whole party. It was amazing.

All the residents were so happy and smiling the whole time. I was able to meet a few of the

resident’s children that came to visit. After this was over we cleaned everything up and left for

the week. I left at 4, giving me 7 hours for the day. I worked a total of 39 hours this week, and a

total of 308 hours for the semester.

I arrived on March 25 at 8. My day started with doing normal duties. I started working

on my part of the presentation for the first half of the morning. I found out later that day that two

residents had passed away when we were at spring break. I was not very close with the residents

that passed, but it is still a hard concept to think about. Thinking about the families and the

nurses that saw and cared for them daily makes me feel hurt. I helped serve lunch. I did not

clean up lunch because the residents complained that we were making too much noise cleaning

plates while they eat. After that I delivered mail to all the residents. I then went to help a

resident move some furniture around in her room. I left today at 4, giving me eight hours for the

day. On the 26th, I arrived at 8 as well. When I arrived I started working on our presentation for

the day. The presentation consisted of facts about artificial sweeteners. I attended menu review

to hear what the residents had to say about the past meals. After that is when we presented the

information. We told them what artificial sweeteners were and pros and cons of both. We also

compared them to natural sweeteners. The residents did not seem to interested in the information

displayed, after they had begged us several times to present on that topic. After that I helped one

of the CNA’s with an oxygen tank of a patients. I helped serve lunch and organized all the mail

to be delivered. I left at 4 this day, giving me another 8 hours. On Wednesday the 27th, I arrived

at 9. We went to Walmart with the residents that wanted to go. I had a special request to walk

with a resident and help her find the items she needed. I had a good time talking to the resident

because it allows me to get to know the resident better. When we returned I took all the items

purchased to each resident’s room. After lunch we started planning the activity for Thursday. I

left at 4, giving me 7 hours for the day. On the 28th, I arrived at 8. I Helped serve breakfast

because they needed help. After that I started working on my mock interview. The we started

the activity. The activity was called “Make a wish”. The residents painted a dandelion print out.

They loved this activity because it allowed them to show their creativity with different colors.

We let them dry and then hung them on the walls on Fellowship Home. The rest of the day

consisted of helping residents do tasks they needed completed. I left at 4, giving me 8 hours

today. On Friday the 29th, I arrived at 9. All the duties on Friday were normal. I helped d

everything I normally do. The only different thing was happy hour. I helped set up and clean up

happy hour. I served all the residents food and drinks. All the residents love happy hour because

it gives them time to be social. I left at 5, giving me 8 hours today. I worked a total of 39 hours

this week, putting me at 347 hours total.

On Monday, April 1st, I arrived at 8. The day was pretty relaxed. I started out doing

normal activities. I started working more on my project. I forgot the day was April Fools day,

and a couple of residents played pranks on me. It was fun and it made them very happy. I

helped serve lunch and helped clean it up. There is a new chef in the kitchen, so lunch was a

little chaotic at first. I called bingo and did not mess anything anything up. I left at 4, giving me

8 hours for the day. ON Tuesday, the 2nd, I started my day at 8 as well. I did the same activities

that I normally do. We did an activity with the residents that taught them about nutrition. We

cut out different food items and had them put what they normally would consume in a meal.

After they had chosen everything we showed them how much fruits, vegetables, and proteins

were recommended by MyPlate. They loved this activity and thought it was fun. I then helped

bring residents to sing church hymns at 2. I left at 4, giving me another 8 hours for the day. I

arrived on Wednesday at 9. None of the residents wanted to go to Kroger so we all went to get

the things they needed. When we got back, we played bingo with the members in memory care.

This did not work as administration imagined because most of the memory care patients cannot

sit still for more than 5 minutes. After this I went back and started to look for more jobs. I left at

4 today, giving me 7 hours. On Thursday, the 4th, I arrived at 9 again. The day started as it

always does. I helped a resident help find a wring she had lost. It was Cheyenne’s birthday so

the residents sang to her. This was a very relaxed day, so I left at 3, giving me 6 hours for the

day. On Friday, I arrived at 10. The Owner from Valdosta was there with his family checking

on the facility. His son played the piano and the residents loved it. I helped with happy hour and

got a chance to talk to all the residents for a while. I enjoy talking to the residents the most

because I always get something out of every conversation. I left at 5 giving me 7 hours for the

On Monday, April 8th, I arrived at 9. I started the day doing normal duties. I started

working and practicing for my project in the mean time. I helped serve lunch and help deliver

the mail as well. We did not have to call bingo because the volunteer came. I went to a

resident’s room to help try to fix a cabinet in an old antique chest. Unfortunately, I could not fix

the cabinet. I then went to another resident’s room and tried to fix her shower rod that had

fallen. I left at 4 this day, giving me 7 hours. I had a job interview on Tuesday the 9th, so I came

in at 12. As soon as I came in at 12, I immediately started to help serve lunch. After serving

lunch we discussed the major details of our project. I then helped organize the resident’s

medical folders. We had to go through every folder and make sure their Medicare card was up to

date. We made a list of the ones that did not have updated Medicare cards. We then organized

every folder in alphabetical order. Hopefully all of the folders will stay in order and not get

thrown into a pile like before. After this I helped bake cookies because they were all out in the

front. When I returned to the front I filed papers on residential information. I left at 5, giving

me five hours. On Wednesday the 10th, I arrived at 9. I started the morning by doing normal

activities. I went to the puzzle room to help a couple of residents complete a puzzle. I always

enjoy this because it gives you one on one time with residents. I helped with lunch and helped

clean up. There was not a volunteer today so I called bingo. A church group came and brought

Easter prizes for the winner of each round. The residents seem to like this change compared to

receiving bingo money. I did not mess up anything so that was good. I left at 4 giving me 7

hours for the day. I arrived Thursday at 9. Thursday was a pretty relaxed day. We basically did

the same thing we had been doing the day before. I left today at 4, giving me 7 hours. I arrived

Friday at 9. I was super nervous arriving because of our presentation. I went through my portion

of the presentation more than once this morning waiting for Dr. K to arrive. When Dr. K arrived

we presented out presentation, and everything went well. When we were done I completed a few

small tasks that some residents needed me to do. I left at 3, giving me 6 hours. I now have 32

On Monday, April 15th, I arrived at 9. This was a normal Monday, so I started my

morning duties. We were told by our administrator that we had a few more projects we needed

to complete before we finished our internship. One of these tasks were taking pictures of every

staff member and resident. We went to get pictures of the staff members and residents that we

did not already have. We were able to get this done quickly. After this I helped serve and clean

up lunch. After lunch we typed up these medical charts for each resident. I delivered the mail,

and then did some things for my paper. I left at 4, giving me 7 hours. On Tuesday, the 16th, I

arrived at 9 again. I started doing my morning duties as always. I was able to bake cookies

because we were out. Then we went to Office Max because the office needed a numerous

amount of things. We were able to get most of the things that we needed. We headed back and

helped serve lunch. After lunch we helped residents from memory care come over to listen to

the preacher that comes to sing. I think it is very special that some memory care can attend this

because it is so special to them. I left at 4, giving me 7 hours. On Wednesday the 17th, I arrived

at 10. It is the day that we go to Kroger. I did not attend this Kroger trip. I stayed back and

helped a resident do something they needed done. After this I helped a resident move clothes

and other heavy objects from her car to her room. I helped serve lunch and clean it up. We

called bingo and the residents loved it. I left at 3, giving me 5 hours. On Thursday I arrived at

10 as well. This Thursday was a little different. This program with young children came for an

eater egg hunt. They hunted eggs all through the living area. The residents absolutely loved this.

After this encompass came in for the April birthdays. I helped serve cake and ice cream. Then

there was a special appearance form the Easter bunny. The residents loved taking pictures with

the bunny. We then took everything over to memory care to help serve them. This was a little

more chaotic than the assisted living side. A lot of residents in memory care make a huge mess

when they eat and they do not realize they are eating. It is very hard to work in memory care,

and it takes a special person to be able to do it. I left at 4 this day, giving me 6 hours. I did not

attend Friday because I had another commitment. I have 25 hours this week, giving me 440

hours overall.

On the 22nd, I arrived at 10. This day was very relaxed. I started out doing morning

activities. I baked cookies for the front of the office. We had to go to office max to get supplies

for the office and for the picnic we are having next week. When we got back from this we

helped serve and clean up lunch. After lunch we started to plan everything for the picnic We

had to make a menu and order the decoration we did not have. We had the bingo auction. This

is something fun that all the residents love. I helped call out the items. One kit Kat I called out

went for ninety dollars. I was so shocked something went for that much After this I helped

deliver mail. I left at 4 today giving me 6 hours. I arrived Tuesday at 9. I did the same things as

I normally do in the morning. We then started to plan more for the picnic. We had to order

boxes and start making name tags. Luckily fellowship home has cricket that prints out

sticker/name tags. After that I started working on my portfolio. I then went to help a resident

move a couch in her room. I then helped with mail. The mail was not completely organized so it

took a little longer than normal. After this I went to Shannon and Colleens office to do

something for them. I left at I left at 4 today, so I worked 7 hours. I did not go in Wednesday

because I had to go home and get something’s. I arrived Thursday at 9. I did the same thing as I

normally do in the mornings. I sat at the front desk while Amber had to do some things. I the

went to help make more name tags for the picnic. I helped with lunch and mail. I left at 3 giving

me 6 hours. I left to go to the beach for a trip Friday, so I did not go in. I worked 19 hours this

week. I have 459 hours overall.
