Day in the life: Roman Citizen

Hello, Im Lar Avidius Iuba, but you can call me Iuba. Today I will go in depth and explain to

you about my daily life, here in ancient rome. My family comes from powerful ancestors so we

are fortunate enough to be in a higher class and I happened to be the financial official who

overlooks the military and state finances. I live with my wife Govia Vitorica and our 9 children. I

have 5 strong sons, who hopefully will take after me, or serve the community in religious ways.

As a financial official my job requires me to look after all means of money used and needed for

the war. My wife helps me take of the kids along with a couple of servants. My son will soon

join the army and I cannot wait to see him achieve this and continue on the family legacy. I've

been doing my job for many years and have served my emperor faithfully as banker of military

and state funds. I will be turning 38 next month and my next son will take over as the emperor

sees fit. On a day to day basis I deal with other government officials and advise my concerns and

wishes for the government. My wife stays home with the girls and younger boys while i am out

and about working, with my 3 oldest sons watching and shadowing what i do. Sometimes i ask

for their opinions and what they would do depending on a situation. After a long day of work, i

come home to my wife and the rest of my family and spend the night going over work or

enjoying my wife alone. I think I covered it all, thanks for listening!
