Day in the life of a Bantu society

Hello, my name is Ashur Kamau but you can call me Ashur. It is so nice to meet you, i'm

glad you’ve taken an interest in my culture, I hope i can answer all your question. Today I will

give you a day in the life of the Bantu society. A little background about us first, we started in

the sahara before it dried out. After it had started to dry out we has moved west and started

agriculture. We farm, have merchants and many other ways of work. Our culture is much like a

clan and rulership is passed down through generation from the very first ruler. We all work as a

society to help one another and depend on each others work. I am a farmer so my job is vital for

survival and i must provide for my clan. I also have a family of my own and family here is very

important as we must pass down each generation as our ancestors did. In our religion, we pay

lots of respect to the dead. We pray to them for help, worship to them and give thanks in their

name. They all helped contribute to the clan and are set as reminders for us to look up to. My

family has been farmers for generations. I have a family of myself,my wife and 2 daughters and

3 sons. My sons will follow me in farming and my daughters learn from their mother on how to

help maintain the house and contribute to the society. Apart from working, we do have interest

in art and music as it makes us who we are. My daughters love to work with clay and sing while

they work on meals. As for my sons, they do like singing too, especially songs that our ancestors

sang. Well, I guess that is all for today, I must get back to work!
