RSTP starts a port with blocking mode.

As soon as a BPDU is received from the root

bridge corresponding ports between the switches will be unblocked and a negotiation
SYNC will take place.

SYNC:
1). As soon as the non-root switch gets BPDU from the root brdige it will move its
corresponding interface to forwarding and block all other NON-EDGE ports and send
sync message to those ports.
2). Root bridge will send a PROPOSAL message to non-root bridge
3). Non-root will reply back with AGREEMENT message to the root-bridge
4). Root-bridge will put its interface in forwarding state after getting AGREEMENT
message.
This process will continue and eventually some ports will be in blocked state.

Uplink fast:
STP: move alternate port from blocking to forwarding & update mac address table by
multicast dest and unicast source mac address.
RSTP: uplinkfast in configured by default.Mac address table is flushed by all
switches as soon as it reveices TC so no need for multicast frame.

Topology Change in RSTP: Only non-edge ports moving to forwarding state are
considered topology change in RSTP.

Flushing of MAC address table: After receiving TC notification by the root bridge,
it will send all TC to all the switch to flush mac address table after Forwarding
Time interval. But in RSTP TC doesn't need to go upto the root bridge and a switch
flushes its MAC address table as soon as it receives the TC from a neighbor's non-
edge port.
