Assignment Title: Q2 Mid Unit Beowulf Values

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal is to at least score an 80% or higher.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of this writing assignment was to understand what the Anglo-Saxons valued and how it shaped
their everyday lives. These values contributed in the story Beowulf which is why we wrote this assignment.
Another reason for writing this assignment is to understand the values of loyalty, bravery, and honor on a
personal level. I can relate these values to real life scenarios or people in general.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I performed quit well on my assignment. I was had some minor mistakes that brought me a bit down
according to the rubric. Other than that, I scored the score I wanted to, the grade would’ve been higher if I
turned it in on time but that’s the best it can get at the moment.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
What I did well on was providing evidence that supported the Anglo-Saxons values. Having supportive
evidence is key to the assignment and I’ve learned this from previous assignments that I scored low on
because of not enough evidence.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I revised this assignment before but haven’t took a look at it until now. Revising and reflecting off of it now
makes me wish I’d add more background from the Anglo-Saxons and how it relates to Beowulf.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
My next writing assignment I will turn it in on time and search backgrounds of what my paper is about to
make it stronger and the audience will understand more of what I’m talking about.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I achieved my goal of an 80. I know I can score higher and in order to accomplish this I need to revise, re-
read rubric, and turn in my assignment on time. If I do those than I can score higher than an 80.
