Grizzly Pride

Every day of the spring baseball season me and my teammates have to do our pregame
warmups and take batting practice in the batting cages which are getting torn up and the turf is
getting folded over. We have been trying to get this fixed for a couple years now but everytime
they come in and fix it they don’t do a very good job and it just gets torn up every time we use
the facility.

For my grizzly pride project me and three other students will be fixing the batting cages
out on the baseball field. We have gotten approval from the head baseball coach at the school
and he agrees that this needs to be done. The coach, Joel Sundquist, has all of the supplies for us
to do it already so we will not be spending any money for this project. For the project we will be
laying down new turf pieces and glueing them down to the concrete, We will also be hanging up
the hitting nets for this coming season. This we become a brand new hitting facility for the
Copper Hills baseball team.

This project will be beneficial to any baseball player at this school in the next years
coming and also to the current baseball team. We will be completing this project late february or
early March. This has been needed for years now. This will make a huge change to the baseball
field and will be a major improvement.

The steps needed for this project are:

-pull of all the old turf
-lay the glue and adheasive
-lay the new turf pieces down
-put new clips along the lines of the poles
-hang the new net and zip down all the sides
