Dear guardian,

Our school is very committed to ensuring that your child has the knowledge and
skills to safely explore and utilize the internet. This week we will be discussing digital
citizenship in the classroom. Every student in the virginia beach public schools system
has made, and will continue to make passwords for standard websites and/ or
applications. It is important that your child knows how to create a password that will not
be stolen or easily guessed by others. Please take a look at this infographic and discuss
with your child the proper passwords and how to come up with them using phrases and/
or symbols. We also ask that you discuss with your child common ways to remember
their passwords and a safe place that they may write them down and store them.
