I am privileged to write this letter of recognition and recommendation for Haley Hegenauer, a 2019 graduate of
Shepherd High School (SHS). As she worked through the course-load of the English curriculum, her work ethic and
punctuality became evident, and she was a student I—as the instructor—looked forward to having in class. She has
also spent a lot of time volunteering in student-run organizations to make her classmates’ high school experience
more positive, all while being a great athlete for SHS.

In her years at Shepherd High School, Haley has excelled academically. Her attention to detail in working on
assignments is impeccable and she has earned the reputation of going above and beyond the assignment
requirements. While Haley’s academic accomplishments are impressive, her focus on serving others makes her an
even more remarkable person. She has capitalized on several volunteer opportunities, helping foster a sense of
community among the students in the Class of 2019. Her efforts have allowed for success in Homecoming Float
Building, Homecoming Hall Decorating, Prom Planning, and Graduation planning.

As if this was not enough involvement, she has been a four-year member of both the Cross Country and the Track
and Field programs. In her time with these programs, she has amassed an impressive resume, including being All
State for three years in Cross Country, All State with her relay team for Track and Field, and earning an Academic
All State honor in 2 different years. When Haley dedicates herself to something, she will settle for nothing but the
best.

Haley is a pleasant person to be around who always brings a positive outlook and good ideas. It is my pleasure to
offer my highest recommendation for a student who I think will be successful in whatever endeavors she chooses.
That student is Haley Hegenauer.
