Fires, floods, earthquakes and other natural disaster inflict serious damage and

seems to be bad for the economy. For firms, companies these natural disasters destroy
tangible assets such as buildings and equipment. Mostly, if natural disaster occurs, the
organization not only loses its investment in data processing facilities, but more
importantly, it also loses its ability to do business. Computer center controls helps to
create a secure environment. There are some control features that contribute directly to
computer center security.
Physical location for a computer is very important. A computer should be located
away from human made and natural hazards. The place where the computer should be
placed must be stable and comfortable for it to be used. A computer center is a large
group of networked computer servers typically used by organizations for the remote
storage, processing, or distribution of large amounts of data. Its access and
communications line should be placed underground. Air filtration system helps the
computer center to avoid pollens, dust and dust mites.
Access to the computer center should always be limited to the operator and other
employees. Those analysts and programmers who are assigned to correct program errors
need to sign in and out. Authentication and authorization are the two main components
of access control. To have a higher level of security, having a strict access control can
protect the computer systems from theft or damage to their hardware, software and many
more. Having an air conditioned room also helps the computer to work properly. It is
because computers produce heat inside of it. Without a good temperature the risk of
circuit damage from static electricity is increased when humidity drops.
Fire is the most common problem of an organization’s computer. Mostly, a firm or
an organization loses its business when they loss their records such as account
receivable due to fire. Fire suppression systems are used to extinguish or prevent the
spread of fire in a building. When heat or smoke is detected, an electronic signal is sent
to the control unit to send the clean agent gas through cylinders and piping network.
Alarms, fire extinguisher, fire exit are some of the major features of such a system.
