Cyber Bullying

I. How is Cyberbullying affecting teens today?

Most teenagers are on social media the most and they tend to post everything, like

their daily situations. Teenagers are most likely to post something about someone

if they dislike that person. Cyberbullying are affecting teenagers in a big way

because they are most likely the ones to experience bullying online just because

people at their school are being mean to them online.

II. What are ways you can prevent cyberbullying ?

● Provide support if being cyberbullied

● Practice how to speak up to stop cyberbullying

● Teach young people how to take charge of their safety and well being, online and

everywhere else

III. What are some reasons cyberbullying may start?

To feel Powerful over others

Popularity

Problems with others

Peer Pressure

Prejudices - Teens will bully kids for being different in some way

IV. How can bystanders help to stop cyberbullying?

Bystanders have the potential to make a positive difference in a bullying situation by

becoming an upstander. An upstander is someone who sees what happens and interrupts,

or speak up to stop the cyberbullying.

Bystanders can reach out to the person to check in with them and let them know that you

do not agree with the bully

V. What can parents do about cyberbullying , how can they prevent it ?

Monitor their kids online

Shorten social media privileges
