Hello, My name is Austyn Curtis!

I would like to take this opportunity to formally

introduce myself and give you some background about me.

I have had a steady job ever since I was 14 years old and I am proud to say I have never

missed nor have been late to work since I have had a job. My first official job was a typical

“young teen” occupation, I bagged groceries and stocked shelves at a local, family-owned

country market. I can vividly remember seeing all the ads in the store and wondering what all

goes into making a successful advertisement that reaches a wide variety of individuals and

wanted to gain knowledge and resources about it. With that being said, I started my first year at

the Jackson Area Career Center the following year to study business, sales, and marketing. While

I was soaking up information in that program, I had also taken the opportunity to seek different

employment at the Country Club of Jackson. This allowed me to not only network with members

and leaders of Mid-Michigan corporations, but also helped me develop my customer service and

communication skills.

Currently, I am in my second year of the Sales and Marketing program at the Jackson

Area Career Center and am a senior at Concord High School. During the first hour of my school

day, I take an online Michigan Virtual class on Sports and Entertainment Marketing while

wrapping up the second half of my day commuting to JTV in Jackson MI, a local media and

advertisement television station, where i am a General Video Production Laborer. Outside of

work and my education, I enjoy doing volunteer work in my community creating short films for

sports and local events. I also am a member of our varsity baseball team at Concord High School

and plan to further my athletic career as a collegiate baseball player.

I am eager to start my educational journey and pursue my goal to work in the Sports and

Entertainment Marketing field which will allow me to pursue my dream job.
