Unit 3:

Claire and Momma K-S

Setting: Claire is sitting on the floor in her mess of a room, simply astonished at how she had
cleaned it two days ago and the floor is already swimming with clothes. Her phone begins to
vibrate and the song What Does the Fox Say begins to play. Claire looks at her phone and smiles
with excitement. It is her weekly call with her mother.

Claire (answers phone with a british accent): Ello mother, how is your cold? Did the tea help at
all?

Momma K-S (speaks with a british accent, already catching onto the game): Ello, love! I am
feeling much better! How are you doing?

Claire (drops british accent) : I am great! I just found out that I got an “A” on my last essay! I am
so happy.

Momma K-S: Oh my goodness! That is amazing, Claire. What was your paper about? Can you
send it to me?

Claire (stands up to walk in circles around the room because she can not sit still): Haha, yes, of
course I can! It was about Richard III, that is why I needed to borrow that fifteen dollars because
I had to go to the play to get a more well-rounded understanding of it. It was a dialog between
Richard III and a therapist named doctor Geller, like Doctor Geller from Friends! Haha! I had the
best time writing it, I made it as comedic as possible without going over the top. We had to
reference the last essay and presentation that we made, so I incorporated A TON of flow
references and to be honest, I kind of fell into flow while writing it.

Momma K-S: Awe! That is great! It sounds like a super interesting dialog. I always love to read
your writing. So please, send it my way! Who exactly was Richard III?

Claire: A man with no morals. I based the story after his death in hell, so that everyone is aware
that he is suffering. He seemed to HATE talking about his feeling while he was alive, I thought it
would be funny to make him talk about his feelings for eternity! His fate in my dialog is full of
irony and jokes because hell was too scary and dark to not be overwhelming.

Momma K-S: Love to hear it sweetie! Glad you are still passionate about writing. I can't wait to
read it! I have to go help your father move a box now, but I love and miss you so much!

Claire (smiling with tears in her eyes): I love and miss you more! Can't wait to see you and dad
soon! Babye!
