METHODS: We Used data from tne GLOBOCAN 2012, Cancer Incidence in Five Continents, World Health Organization Mortality Dalavase and Survellance, Epidemiology, and End Resulls programmes to Geseribe the current epicemioiogy of HNCS. RESULTS: Estimated age-standaraised incidencermoraiy rates for cancers ofthe lp and oral cavity among males and temaies (7.012.3 and 2.6/0.6 per 100,000 per annum) in more developed regions are higher compared to those in less developed regions (6028 and2 511 4 per 100,000 per annum), Simiaty, the estimated rates for cancers of the tonsis and pharynx among males (7-5/2 5 per 100,000 per annum) and females (2.7/0.5 per 100,000 per annum) are reported to be the highest n Westesm Europe, vereas these rates for cancer of tne larynx among males (7.94.0 per 109,000 per annum) and females (0910 & per 100,000 per annum) are reported to be the hlgnest mn the Candoean. Cancer of the nasopharyns represents a sigaincant HNC burden in tne ASIa- Pace region and Northern Airc CONCLUSION: The current and future estimated burden of HNCs 1s shifing to less developed regions hich may be Ml equipped fo ‘eal with tis inereasing burden.
