3 Fiscal Session, 2010 HCR 1007 4 5 By: Representative Wills 6 7 8 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 9 TO PROVIDE THAT THE FISCAL SESSION OF THE EIGHTY- 10 SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY WILL ADJOURN SINE DIE AT 11 12:00 NOON, ON MARCH 4, 2010 OR AT AN EARLIER 12 DATE AGREED TO BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES 13 AND SENATE; TO PROVIDE FOR A RECESS AT THE CLOSE 14 OF BUSINESS IN EACH CHAMBER ON FEBRUARY 25, 2010; 15 TO AUTHORIZE THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO RECONVENE 16 FROM THE RECESS AT ANY TIME BEFORE 12:00 NOON, 17 MARCH 4, 2010, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING 18 VETOES AND CORRECTING ERRORS AND OVERSIGHTS. 19 20 Subtitle 21 TO PROVIDE FOR THE DATE OF THE SINE DIE 22 ADJOURNMENT OF THE FISCAL SESSION OF THE 23 EIGHTY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND TO 24 PROVIDE FOR RECESSES OF THE HOUSE OF 25 REPRESENTATIVES AND THE SENATE. 26 27 28 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE EIGHTY-SEVENTH GENERAL 29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN: 30 31 (a) That the Fiscal Session of the Eighty-Seventh General Assembly of 32 the State of Arkansas shall adjourn sine die at 12:00 noon, March 4, 2010 or 33 at an earlier date as may be agreed to by the House of Representatives and 34 Senate. 35 (b)(1) That the Fiscal Session of the Eighty-Seventh General Assembly 36 of the State of Arkansas shall enter into recess at the close of business in

2 (2) That under Arkansas Constitution, Article 6, § 15, prior to 3 adjournment of the General Assembly, the Governor is afforded five (5) days 4 after receipt of a bill to sign a bill or veto a bill, therefore from 5 February 25, 2010 through March 4, 2010, the House Representatives and the 6 Senate shall be open so the office of the Chief Clerk of the House of 7 Representatives and the office of the Secretary of the Senate may receive 8 communications, vetoes of bills by the Governor, and notification of errors 9 and oversights. 10 (3) That the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the 11 President Pro Tempore of the Senate may, by joint proclamation, reconvene the 12 General Assembly at any time before 12:00 noon, March 4, 2010, for the 13 purpose of: 14 (A) Considering vetoes; and 15 (B) Correcting errors and oversights. 16 17 /s/ Wills 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36
