Weekly Blog 10: Filming Week 1

This week was the first week which we had been given to film. I wanted to
make the most out of this time so that during the Easter holidays I could get a
head start on editing. Unfortunately, this week didn’t get off to a good start;
on Monday I was scheduled to go and interview someone but unfortunately
due to some uncontrollable
circumstances we had to schedule it for
another day. Instead of filming my
interview I decided to fully prepare for my
other ones, I gathered up all of the
equipment I would need for the rest of
the week. In the past when filming a
common situation which would be
frustrating and waste time which I would
come across was my SD cards being full.
To prevent this from happening I made
sure that I had 4 clear SD cards that all
were of a large storage capacity.

I rescheduled my interview for the 26th of April at midday.

Tuesday-Thursday were very busy and I got a lot done within this time period.
On Tuesday I took the train to West Drayton. Unfortunately, this was when
something did go wrong even though I thought I was quite well prepared. I
didn’t think to test the camera which I had hired out to use as my second
camera in my set up for an interview. It wasn’t until I was about to leave the
house when I realised that this camera and also the second tripod both
didn’t work. I found a solution to this, I called a friend who lent me his
equipment. This situation wasn’t desirable so in the future I need to think
ahead of the day(s) I’m filming.

I spent the remainder of the week preparing and scheduling in other

opportunities to film. I have work commitments for the rest of the week so I
didn’t have the opportunities to edit over that time period.
