Dear Families,

Your child will be learning about animals and their habitats this

week. We will be sending home a toilet paper tube to represent an

animal’s home. Please go outside with your child and collect materials

which an animal could use to keep their home warm (leaves, grass,

moss, etc.). Then spend time using the materials you collected and the

tube to construct an animal home. Please leave one end open so that we

can place a small container of hot water inside for an experiment.

On Friday April 12, all of 2nd Grade will be conducting the

experiment to determine how well their animal home keeps the water

warm. Plan to have your child bring their project to school before Friday

morning.
