Red Transition Guide:

Transition to Scene 1:
● Rothko starts Schubert over

Transition to scene 2:
● Ken sets down glass, retrieves jackets from back-USL, exits
DSL
● Rothko takes off shoes and socks, turns on Schubert,
replaces complete canvas with blank canvas, goes to clean
brushes

Transition to scene 3:
1. Rothko puts on socks and shoes, turns on Schubert, throws
away Chinese food, exits DSL
2. Ken sets out brushes that were cleaned, turns off Schubert,
goes backstage to change shirt and get painting/chair,
grabs bucket and stirring stick and eggs to mix paint, X to
phone.
3. Rothko enters DSL with maroon packets

Transition to scene 4:
● Ken turns Miles Davis on, goes backstage, leaves his
painting, changes into 4 costume, grabs canvas and
stretching material; X CS, starts to stretch canvas
● Rothko turns on US fluorescents, change into 4 costume

Transition to scene 5:
1. Ken looks at DS canvases for a beat, turns Schubert on ​LOW
VOLUME​​,​ ​takes jacket, turns off USR and DSR Lamps, exits
DSL
2. Rothko enters DSL, turns Schubert ​HIGH VOLUME​​, grabs
Scotch, lights cigarette, and grabs paint caddy, goes to
paint but lies down
