Description of artifact/assignment:

We had to get into groups of three and create, market, and present a good or service to the class.
We had to make it clear to the class that our product was profitable and worth investing in. They
would determine whether they would invest in our product or not. The product my group and I
came up with was a generator powered by magnetic energy. I was in charge of making the
advertisement for our product so I made a video.

Why did you choose this as one of your artifacts/assignments?

I chose this as my academic artifact because my group and I worked hard on this project together
and our product was advertised very well. The class decided they would all invest in our product
and we got 100% on our final grade.

What academic skills did you use that are specific to this artifact/assignment?

The skills we used were marketing, analyzing cost of production, and analyzing supply and
demand.

What general academic skills did you use (skills that would be used in any academic class)?
The general skills we used were teamwork and collaboration and analyzing data.

Did you see growth in your targeted soft skills through the course of working on this
Artifact/Assignment? Explain.
Portfolio 2018-19

I did see growth in my targeted soft skills because I was engaged in creating our product and I
used self management to get my half of the project done.

Provide an example of how these academic and/or soft skills are used in a career in which you
are interested.
I am going to have to use marketing in the career I am interested because I could be making
advertisements for goods or services.
