Project #5: String Quartet

Length: 2:00 – 2:30
Style: Your choice
Mood: Your choice
Material: Pick one or two folk songs and construct an original
composition using the songs in a manner of your choosing. A simple
arrangement of a folk song will NOT suffice!
Form: Will depend on the folk songs; you should have at least two
primary musical ideas, which can either be two separate folk songs
or a folk song and original material.
Harmony: I’ll leave this up to you, but I would like to see some
experimentation and thought put into how you treat the work
harmonically
