Experiment 1

Observation:

In our experiment we are task to reduced large sample of aggregates to the appropriate size for testing
where in we are given a course aggregate sample with a total weight of 10.078 kg and a fine aggregate
sample with a total weight of 3.05 kg. Reducing the sample by the method of mechanical splitter for fine
aggregates where in we get 0.7565 of reduced sample and quartering for course aggregates where in we
get 1.266 kg of reduced sample we observed that the distribution of the sample may be unequal specially
if the sample has a large size particles.

Conclusion:

We therefore conclude that reducing the large sample of aggregated to appropriate size for testing would
allow us to evaulate the aggregates quality and would also allow us to measure the properties that are
required for the proportioning of the concrete mixture.
