Please ​copy/paste the questions below into a new document and complete them by
midnight tonight​. Using the comments feature, ​respond to at least two other consultants’
answers by Sunday night at midnight​.

1. Read ​“Evolving Identities: A Case Study of a Writing Center Collaboration with a Public
Speaking Course​.” Then, complete a 3, 2, 1 exercise: pick three points you found
interesting in the reading, two parts that you could apply to your consulting, and one
question you have about the reading or a question you have that wasn’t answered by the
reading.

2. Watch these example public speaking videos: ​(1)​ and ​(2)​. Write one strength, one area
of improvement, and one thing you would write on an RoC for each video.

3. Watch ​this TEDx Talk​ about overcoming the fear of public speaking. How can we
channel these ideas into our consultations with students lacking confidence? What might
you write on an RoC to encapsulate the message of this video for a student struggling
with speech anxiety?

4. The TEDx video above emphasizes the use of technology to solve problems such as
fear of public speaking. Bringing this into the Noel Studio, what are some technologies
you can use with students in speech consultations? What spaces might also be useful in
these consultations besides presentation rooms? Any other resources the Noel Studio
offers?
