Normal Intravenous Urogram Report

An intravenous urogram was performed on a 25-year old male. The kidneys showed normal excretion of contrast medium and pelvicalyceal systems. The ureters were normal in caliber with no filling defects or narrowing. The urinary bladder was also normal in morphology with no abnormalities detected. The impression was that the study was normal, with normal excretory function of the kidneys and normal appearance of the ureters and urinary bladder.

REPORT INTRAVENOUS UROGRAM


CONTROL FILM: No doubtful radio opaque calculus like shadow is noted in the KUB
areas.
Psoas shadows appear normal.

POST CONTRAST FILMS:

KIDNEYS: Both kidneys show satisfactory excretion of contrast medium and normal,
smooth nephrogram. Pelvicalyceal systems appear normal with preserved calyceal
cupping. No filling defect is noted. No obstruction is noted at PUJ.

URETERS: Both ureters are normal in caliber. No filling defect or any narrowing is
noted. Ureters are neither dilated nor displaced.

URINARY BLADDER: Urinary bladder is normal in morphology. No calculus, filling


defect or any out pouching is noted. Insignificant amount of residual urine is noted in
the post micturition film.

IMPRESSION:

 NORMAL STUDY.
 EXCRETORY FUNCTION OF BOTH KIDNEYS IS NORMAL. BOTH URETERS &
URINARY BLADDER ARE NORMAL.
