EXAMINATION: X-RAY : BARIUM SWALLOW


Clinical indication: To rule out TEF.
TECHNIQUE: Contrast given orally through feeder and also pull back N/G tube
technique was performed and series of spot films taken under fluoroscopic
control.
FINDINGS:
 Contrast has outlined the hypopharyngeal, cervical and thoracic esophagus
upto gastroesophageal junction.
 No evidence of filling defect, luminal narrowing, dilatation or any fistulous
communication seen.
 No sign of extrinsic compression seen.
 Gastroesophageal junction appears to be normal.

CONCLUSION:
 Normal barium swallow study. No evidence of tracheo-esophageal fistula
seen. Advise clinical correlation.
