HIV, The Silent Killer

Fighting what my partner gave me

Fighting what the world seems to pretend to fight
Never again will I be free, tiresome days and tearful nights
Layed in a bed of rose flowers, thorns pricking my thighs
Blood trickled down my sides, in the upper room of a dark tower
Lost the ones closest to me
Chaos and corruption all around this silent killer
All go deeper than they should for me.

It can be given to you, It can be passed on

Life is so unpredictable, all you have to do is move along
He caught the virus, now his life turned into a crisis
It’s sad to see him left alone. It’s like an area hit by a cyclone.

He caught the virus, I mean HIV

Where does he start, his life is torn apart
By a killer disease.
He knew he had it but didn’t seek help
And passed it along to her, the stigma is there
But life doesn’t end there.
She grows into that woman that manage the disease
She teaches mentors about the infection
She creates awareness about the fact and the fiction
With love and support, surrounded by self education.

Now that me and life made up

It’s time to show this world what I’m made of
A lifetime to spread the word, everyday a voice is heard.
We live in an interdependent world
Where how we respond to HIV depends in part on
Whether we understand this interdependence
It is not someone else’s problem, It’s everybody’s problem.
We need to speak out openly and honestly
To fight against this disease called HIV, the silent killer.
