Research Paper Final Draft

Terrorism: Politics, Religion, Literature by Proença, João Tiago, Aurélio, Diogo

Pires is a book examines the purpose of different types Terrorisms that have happened

over the years, as media João Tiago Proença analyses that Eco -System is most likely to

fall prey to the rhetoric and glorification of violence. Over the years Terrorism has been

one of the worst destructions to the world’s environment/society. As of Today Terrorism

hasn’t been a major problem, because Airport security has become more alert about any

suspicious actions going on in today’s world. Terrorism is one of the biggest destruction

to our society. Terrorism has been used as a threat/violent act to people and business`s.

Also Terrorism has existed for more than 1500 years. Most people use Terrorism as a

positive action towards their religion beliefs. According to one of the Jihadi world politics,

Andres Armborst the Jihadi movement has been handing a handful of statements about their

political views. Also the article state that “Since 9/11, Muslim-inspired terrorism has become the

predominant object of terrorism studies.” This article reveals How Terrorism has changed, but
it’s still one of the Major conflict problems to our society/our world. Reading this article you can

acknowledge that basically What the text is saying is, most Terrorists try to spread fear

throughout the world.

Fátima Costa (Terrorism and the Uses of Violence) claims that although terrorism involves the

use of violence for political goals, a strictly political approach to the subject is most likely, not

only to fail the specific features of terrorism, but also to become an exercise of excuse and

justification. A purely political analysis of terrorism traps us inevitably in the sliding scale

argument. A critical stand towards terrorism is only possible from an ethical perspective that

distinguishes terrorism from other forms of a political use of violence and assesses the moral

implications of terror, the randomness of its violence and the intentional targeting of

non-combatants.

Many people argue that Terrorists destroy things on purpose. A lot of questions have

been unanswered like, What is the purpose of Terrorism/What can we do to stop Terrorism from

happening all over the world. Often , Majority of Terror groups cause these attacks, because their

attempting to achieve a goal, as explained in the article: “Terrorism” “Terror groups want to

scare people. They do this to get power. Sometimes they have a goal in mind. They may want to

free others who are In prison” (Ann Weil). This is to say that Terrorist May be working for

others who are behind bars and doing their dirty work them to receive some type of reward for

their actions taken place.

Most terror groups are small. Only a few people may be involved in any one attack. They hijack

planes. They hold people hostage. They threaten to kill hostages, and sometimes do and They

destroy property and kill people. Most of the times, families and children are the victims.Terror

groups want to scare people, They do this to get power. Sometimes they have a goal in mind.

They may want to free others who are in prison.

Some think that they are helping others by killing. They call themselves “freedom fighters.”

They say they are fighting for freedom. But they are spreading pain. The United States and

others around the world are working to stop terror so people can live in peace and without fear of

attack.

In 1972 The Olympic Games stand for good will among all people and nations. Millions of

people all across the world watch the games on TV. People enjoy seeing athletes from all over

the world compete. But in 1972 the Olympic games were different. The TV image many recall is

not of an athlete with a gold medal. According to the article “Terrorism” by (Weil Ann) It states

“ terrorist in a ski mask with a gun.september 5, 1972 At about 4:30 a.m., five men climbed a

fence into the Olympic Village. Three more men were already inside. They knocked on the door

of Israel’s wrestling coach.”

Every Since 9/11, the Muslim-inspired terrorism has become the most predominant object of

terrorism studies. According to Andreas Armborst (Jihadi World Politics), the jihadi movement

constantly issues statements about its political views. This article describes three major themes in

the writings of jihadi ideologues. Although the main political claim of the jihadi movement (the

establishment of a theocracy based on the principles of Sharia law according to the interpretation

of Salafism) is at odds with the Western model of governance, its narrative also includes issues

that cannot be so easily dismissed by the Western observer. After reading the text, you can

determine that many terrorists try to commit most of their actions in popular places/areas, so that

people can see what all they have to do just for some freedom/respect in a negative way/action

just to be rewarded and be known back in their countries.

Terrorism is one of the biggest destruction to our society. Terrorism has been used as a
threat/violent act to people and business`s. Also Terrorism has existed for more than 1500 years.
Most people use Terrorism as a positive action towards their religion beliefs. Every since 9/11
terror attacks in 2001 , Terrorism has been a major concern worldwide/nationwide. Terror
attacks are caused by religious extremists. Terrorism is defined as a political violence in an
asymmetrical conflict that’s used to induce ‘Terror”. Terrorism started in the 1st century BCE.

Terrorism has been used as a threat/violent act to people and business`s. Also Terrorism has
existed for more than 1500 years. Most people use Terrorism as a positive action towards their
religion beliefs.

This is a good reference because i sometimes picture myself as one of the civilians in that type of
situation and it leaves me with a hand full of questions, like How did they face expression look
and What was going through their minds.
