Dear Judges:

My name is Jacobie Geer and I am eighteen years old. I live with my mom, dad, and my
little sister. I’ve lived here, in Mytle Beach, for most of my life, excempt from staying in Little
River and West Virginia for a couple of months with my grandparents for school. From the last
four years of high school, it’s been pretty interesting. I’ve been through ups and downs but I
wouldn’t exchange it. I can’t explain how I feel about graduating. I’m feeling so many emotions
all at once I don’t know what to pick first. I’m excited to graduate! I’m ready to see what the
future has to offer me.

What motivated me to choose my topic is kind of personal. I have a younger sister at

home that has schizophrenia. It’s been a struggle for all of us but it’s been better. I learned so
many new things about what goes through the mind of a schizophrenic. It all helped me because
I slightly knew what schizophrenia what it was and what it does but it’s good to go in depth of
said illness.

During the process of the Senior Exploration was a little difficult for me. It was hard for
me to choose my topic. My first choice was to do serial killers but then I realized, what could I
even do for my hours. I soon changed it to schizophrenia. I know a little more on the subject.
I’ve made decent grades for the last few weeks and I’m glad that I made it this far to pass.

I want to thank you, Judges, for participating in the senior Exploration project. Thank you
for taking time out of your day to watch me share my project with you.
