This current generation has led us to a time where science and technology

have been a part of our mortal journey. The dependence of people, especially
students, to technology seemed to be so strong that any force can’t break.
Undoubtedly, technology eases everything – may it be in academics, communication,
and even helps in achieving our basic needs leading to the peek of our highest
demand.
In partial fulfillment of my STS subject, I observed a PhD student in 50’s
using a computer in the library while doing his research. I glanced at his monitor,
displaying a particular page about bacteria, which probably he will use for his thesis.
Looking very focused about his manuscript, searching information probably related to
his topic and opening every site he may encounter, I bet he is very motivated to finish
his thesis for whatever goal he is eyeing, and whoever he’ll share his success to.
Amidst my observation, I have realized how fast things change. From
gathering of information through scanning to different books and interviewing a
specialist or an expert in a particular field, which is very inefficient and time
consuming, technology has made it possible to gather information through a single
click, and can only take you less than a minute to access.
