Rockets of the Past

During the late 17th century, Rocketry became very popular and a well-known topic that was

studied. It was later introduce as a part of science, meaning that it was a topic/genre that could be studied.

Sir Isaac Newton laid out Scientific Foundations for modern Rocketry. He wrote 3 laws explaining how

rockets are able to fly and why they are able work in outer space.

In 1898, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, a Russian School Teacher, had proposed an idea about using a

rocket for space exploration. He wrote a report and published it in 1903, stating in order to reach space,

we need to use liquid propellant, have speed and range. He was called Father of Modern Astronautics.

Later during World War II , Germany built some rockets called the V-2 rockets.

When they used these on London, the States and Russia saw this as a potential military weapon

and pursued it. Russia built the first Earth orbiting satellite called Sputnik I. The US, then, built Explorer I

in 1958 as a response to Russia. The space war had officially started. A couple months after Explorer I

went into space, NASA was created and soon after many years, many rockets had went into space using

the same teachings from many astronomers. However, in the future, NASA plans to change the way they

use fuel. They are going to use plasma propulsion
