Research problem : Because with the limitations of time, mind and energy to reach research, it

is necessary in this study to use authentic material especially song and its effect in improving

English listening skills for students in SMPN 18 Bekasi.

Research Questions :
1. Is there a significant effect on the use of popular western songs to improve English

listening skills for students in SMPN 18 Bekasi?

2. .Does the use of popular western song improve the quality of the process and the results

of listening skills for students of SMPN 18 Bekasi?
