Housing Assistance Corporation

HAC is a registered non-profit and offers a continuum of housing programs that

evolve with the changing needs of the community. HAC educates, trains and counsels
with HAC’s consumer education department; weatherizes and conducts energy rehabs
for low-income and market-rate properties; develops affordable housing for seniors,
families and individuals; and provides an opportunity to become a homeowner with a
full-service nonprofit real estate office.
HAC also provides emergency shelter and homelessness prevention assistance
for individuals and families; administration of the largest housing subsidy program in
our region; and family self sufficiency and employment services.

Shelter Cape Cod Telethon
● The Telethon for HOPE is a major fundraiser to support Housing Assistance
Corporation’s programs and services with a goal to give HOPE to all our clients we
serve on Cape Cod and the Islands.
● Over the past year, we have given hope to more than 5,300 Cape Codders, including
2,955 families with children. HAC offers a full continuum of housing programs
throughout Cape Cod and the Islands that are focused on:
○ Reducing and preventing homelessness;
○ Promoting self-sufficiency and empowerment and;
○ Increasing the region’s affordable and attainable housing inventory.
 Big Fix
● The Big Fix is an annual fundraising and community service event
that is coordinated by the Housing Assistance Corporation.
● The goal of this event is to raise funds to enhance the existing
services while making minor home improvements that will
enhance the comfort, safety and quality of life for seniors, the
disabled, and veterans on Cape Cod and the Islands.
