The American Dream

In the book “The Great Gatsby” by F Scott Fitzgerald it depicts the American

dream and the ways through the perspective of how jay gatsby sees the American

dream.Gatsbys american dream is pretty simple,he only wanted a few things.It began

with being wealthy,getting daisy back,and to also fit in with the other wealthy people.

First of all,Gatsby has his story of how he became wealthy.well first he was a

WW1 veteran and came from humble becomings and used to be poor.Then after

coming back from the war he became a wealthy man.He then moved across the lake

from daisy's house and at night he would go the end of the dock and just look at the

green light.He would have parties all the time to just wait for her arrival through the door

but she never came.So once Gatsby met daisy's cousin he would have daisy's cousin

bring daisy over to the house so that gatsby could talk to her.

Next,by the time daisy's cousin came back to the house he tried to get their

attention and they were both to focused on each other to notice him.He then was close

enough to get their attention and told them that the sun was out and then Jay Gatsby

told daisy to go take a look.Once the day ended jay thanked daisy’s cousin for the help
and went on with their night.After that day Gatsby and daisy were hanging out all the

time and they went to Gatsby's house and he showed daisy around.

Furthermore, Gatsby was living his best life after the war he had a nice house nice car

and the only thing he was missing was the girl of his dreams he was a little obsessed

with her and he had a whole book full of her pictures and her letters.But as the end

came he was loosing daisy to nick and daisy was getting overwhemled because they

were fighting over her and gatsby was mad because daisy actually hd some feelings

towards Nick. But then daisy ran into the other room crying because she didnt know

who she wanted and gatsby went after her.

At last, The ending ended in a different way.After Gatsby went after Daisy they were

driving but Gatsby was trying to stop her but she ended up running one of her friends

and gatsby took her home and he went home and once Daisy’s cousin was going to go

in Gatsby called him over and talked to him but he was mad at Gatsby and yelled at him

and it was loud enough to get the securitys attention and they ducked down and waited

for them to go back inside.Then they finished their convo and The next day daisy was

going to call Gatsby but the hsuband of the girl that was killed went after Gatsby and

shot and killed Gatsby. So Gatsby didnt get to answer the phone call.
In conclusion,i do believe that the American dream is dead because once
you have had everything in the word then you will get bored and want to do
new things but once you have done everything then it is boring.
