    Helicopter Crash on Northern Tip of Sulawesi Island

    9 people were killed and one injured in a helicopter crash on Wednesday.


    The helicopter was chartered by one of the mining companies in Indonesia. 8
    foreigners and two Indonesian crewmembers were in the helicopter. But
    unfortunately the helicopter crashed near Manado, on the northern tip of Sulawesi
    island. The lone survivor was an Indonesian, who is in critical condition.

    The helicopter was bound for a mine 200 miles away on Halmahera Island.
    The local authorities have not yet found the cause of the crash. The helicopter was
    reported missing at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, and an extensive search by air and
    ground deployed in finding the helicopter early Thursday morning. The helicopter
    was chartered by Nyaman Air ltd. a join venture between Newcrest Mining and
    Aneka Tambang Inc. (incorporated)
