Role Definition

1. Assessor The teacher looks at the students’ work to see how they are performing
and communicates this to the students.

2. Prompter The teacher will offer words or phrases to help students who need
support.

3. Observer The teacher watches and listens to what the students are doing in order
to give them useful group and individual feedback and to evaluate the
success of different materials and activities.

4. Resource The teacher is helpful and available to offer guidance to students. The
teacher provides information when required.

5. Organiser The teacher engages students, gives instructions with examples and
demonstrations. The teacher arranges the students into pairs or groups
and gives them clear time limits.
