1. What is the goal of this course as its written on the syllabus?


To prepare students for upper division courses through collaborative community
engagement.

2. Who are our community partners?


There are 4 provided, but students interested in other groups must announce so early
on. The 4 listed on the syllabus are Arts& Scraps, Detroit Community Wealth Fund, The
Maurice and Jane Sugar Law Center for Economic and Social Justice, and Advocates for
Baba Baxter.

3. What impact can a community partner have on your grade?


A pretty significant impact, seeing as your service is a requirement for passing the
course.

4. What are the three days of the week wherein you will have work to turn
in for me?
Those days would be Monday, Thursday, and Sunday.

5. How does the homework drop work?


All assignments must be typed in Serif fonts (of our choosing), 12 pt, with 1-inch
margins. These assignments are expected to adhere to MLA or APA and be submitted
through Canvas.

6. How does the late work policy work?


Contingent on the student contacting you prior to the submission deadline. Assignments
submitted late with no consultation will receive a failing grade.
7. What fonts should you write all assignments in?
Serif is the font-style, and I will personally use Georgia.

8. How many minimum hours must you work with the partner for? When
during the semester will this work be done and roughly how many hours
should you work for the partner each week?
In summation, students must serve 20 hours. This will be about 2 hours a week,
beginning around week 3, around the last week of July.

9. About how many hours should you dedicate to this class (not including
the community partner work) each week?
Students should be prepared to commit 9-12 hours a week for this course.

10. In a few words, what are the most important components of my email
policy?
Write an adult email lol. Address the person, have a subject, very basic things.

11. Do you have any questions? (Assignment descriptions, full schedule, and
