This replaces the hitherto-employed mechanical type ignition advance system consisting of a Electronic Ignition Timing centrifugal type governor and a vacuum controller. This system provides an optimum ignition ‘Advance Control System timing, based on the loading conditions which have been detected by various sensor signals sent from the distributor, pressure sensor, cooling water temperature sensor and so forth. This system controls the idling-up which is necessary after the engine has started or when the electrical load is increased This system controls the maximum supercharging pressure of the engine, based on those data which have been detected by means of the throttle positioner sensor, distributor, pressure sensor and so on, in order that the engine may deliver its output to the fullest possible extent. Idle-up VSV Control Supercharging Pressure Control This system actuates the fuel pump by turning ON the fuel pump relay when the starter switch is Lee Ma shell turned ON or when the distributor detects the engine rotation. I any abnormality should occur in each input signal (e.g. each sensor wire hamess and connectors), the ECU memorizes this abnormality. Later, this abnormality is indicated during the trouble diagnosis period by codes through the ON/OFF operation of check engine lamps. ‘As regards important items, this system turns ON the relevant check engine lamp, thus warning the driver of the abnormality Diagnosis Function (Self Diagnosis Function) | any abnormal signal is inputted from the input signal system and when there is a possibility that the engine may become malfunctioning if the control by the said abnormal signal should be Fall-safe Function continued, based on the standard values memorized in the ECU, this system determines whether the engine may be allowed to continue its operation or the engine should be stopped | immediately | In the event that the CPU function of the ECU is encountered with abnormality, this function Backup Function makes it possible to perform evacuation running in accordance with the fuel injection amount | and ignition timing that have been predetermined by the backup data.
