Racial Ridicule Speech

“Studies show that police are more likely to pull over and frisk blacks or Latinos than whites.”

(Department of Justice) I can not even begin to tell you how unjust this is; coming from a white

17 year old female. I am here to speak about the inequality between blacks and whites and

what needs to change. Here I speak before thousands on the Lincoln Memorial where Martin

Luther King gave the famous “I had a dream” speech 56 years ago. I think it is important that

each and everyone of you came out today to listen and support. Looking out into the audience I

see blacks, whites, females, males, children and adults. This is the first step in making a change

in this unjust society. Why is it that years ago blacks were not allowed to sit in the front of the

bus? Even today why is it that blacks have a harder time finding a job than whites? We are

living in a society where people assume that a fight or incident is caused by a black person; not

even caring about who they are. At the end of the day we are all people with hearts, regardless

of the color seen on the surface. Here I stand in front of you all to reveal the society we live in.

Here I stand looking at each and everyone of you all in unison as one. Here I stand, hoping to

make a change that will affect future society for the better.
