GARBAGE FILLED SIDEWALK - MID DAY

A HIGH ANGLE SHOT of a young boy sitting on the floor and a gust of wind
blowing garbage on him.

DIEGETIC TRAIN TRACKS rattling and NON DIEGETIC SOFT, LOW TEMPO, orchestral
music plays sad

A TILT from up to down of a hand putting money in the cup and then picking it
up and as the tilt goes from down to up it stops on the young boy face as he
looks up the mysterious man blinded by the sun.

MIGUEL

(rushing to his feet)

"Please Sir,I need that to eat".

MEDIUM SHOT of Miguel grabbing the Carlos's hand with his cup of money. Then
the camera switches to a CLOSE UP of Carlos taking his glasses off.

CARLOS

(Glares at Miguel with ambition)

"You want this money?"

HIGH ANGLE​ of Miguel looking at Carlos with full desperation.

MIGUEL

(About to go in tears)

"yes sir. I have nothing to eat or drink?"

The camera does a ​180 DEGREE PAN to Carlos's face. He looks at Miguel with
pure sympathy and heartbreak to see Miguel in poverty.

CARLOS

(Anger at seeing young Miguel suffering)

"Wheres your parents? Kid your parents are some real scumbags to let you be
 out here begging!"

A LONG SHOT of Carlos and Miguel as the share an award silence then miguel
starts to cry and falls to his knees with his face in his palms, sobbing is
sorrow. A ​DUTCH ANGLE​ is used as he lifts his face from his hands.

MIGUEL

"They died. I have no parents, no family."

(Brief pause)

"No one."

DOLLY ZOOM​ on carlos as he see the intensity of the situation Miguel is in

Carlos has a look of despair and regret after he finds out Miguel's parents
are dead.

CARLOS

(Shocked at his pain at such a youg age, said with regret)

(Mubbles to himself)

Oh fuck.

(Apologies)

2. INT. DARK WAREHOUSE - NIGHT

A OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT​ following a mysterious man as he approaches Miguel

and his family tied up.
THE DIEGETIC SOUND of the muffled WEILING of the parents because of their
mouth being bound.

A OVER THE HEAD SHOT of this mysterious man squatting down to untie Miguel's
mouth bound.

LONG SHOT​ of the mysterious man squatting down to Miguel's level.

JOSE/MYSTERIOUS MAN

(With a sinister grin)

"Hola Miguel."

CLOSE UP​ on Miguel's face as he is in tears and starts to plead for his
family.

MIGUEL

(In tears)

"Por favor no lastimes a mi familia"

JOSE/MYSTERIOUS

(Trying to comfort Miguel)

MIGUEL'S DAD

(Wiggling his body trying to come free from his bounds)

(Angered at Miguel's dad)

HIGH ANGLE​ on Miguel's father as the mysterious man approaches.

MIGUEL'S DAD

(He looks up at the Mysterious man)

"Es sobre dinero? Juros que te darelo dinero se te dejas mi familia fuera de
esto."

EXTREME LOW ANGLE​ of the mysterious grabbing Miguel's dad facevery angered.

JOSE/MYSTERIOUS MAN

"Ahora es sobre dinero."

AN EXTREME CLOSE UP​ ​of Miguel's father cutting his bound with a small pocket
knife he has stashed in his back pocket.

A CLOSE UP​ of Miguel's dad face as his expressions change and become serious.

(Conversating to distract the mysterious man)

“Let's talk Jose. Mano a Mano.

P.O.V SHOT​ from jose as he looks at miguel's dad.

(speaking angered)

“That was different! What happens between me and you does not involve my
family”

P.O.V SHOT​ falls from miguels dads face to his hand. A crash zooms on
miguel's hand moving, drawing attention to jose that he was trying to break
free.

CLOSE UP​ of Jose’s face

(eyebrows raise in angered manner voice enraged)

MYSTERIOUS MAN/JOSE

“You really try to distract me and cut your rope”

EXTREME LOW ANGLE​ with depth of field only focusing on his face

“Now i'm going to put a bullet in your chest”

PULL FOCUS​ from his face to his gun as he draws it from his waist.

CLOSE UP​ of miguel's dad finally cutting the rope.

MEDIUM SHOT​ as he runs towards Jose as he draws his gun.

OVER THE SHOULDER​ as Jose shoots his first shot and miguel's dad dodges
quickly.

CLOSE UP​ on miguel's face. He is scared, eyes are closed as he weeps. A

second shot goes off and miguel shakes from the shock of the gunshot. His
mother screams.

CLOSE UP​ of miguel's arms a droplet of blood falls on his arm.

CLOSE UP​ of miguel slowly turning around his head and has tears running down
his face.

DEPT OF FIELD ​on Miguel's mother as her body hangs over Miguel lifeless with
blood coming from her mouth.

A DOLLY ZOOM ​on miguel's face as he sees his mother and break down.

(Trying not believe she is dead)

“Mama! Please mama wake up. Mama don't leave me por favor. ​te necesito madre!
Papa mama is hurt you got to help her.

A CLOSE UP​ of Miguel's father as he hears Miguel's cry.

LONG SHOT ​showing Miguel's father as he ends fighting with Jose and tries to
attend to his wifes aid.

DIEGETIC SOUND ​of both Miguel and his father weeping to the death of his
mother.

A HANDHELD CLOSE UP​ of Miguel's father as he turns in rage and agony.

MIGUEL’S FATHER

(Filled with anger for Jose)

“What have you done Jose?”

A LOW ANGLE PEDESTAL HIGH ANGLE​ as Jose recognise the severity of what he has
done.

MYSTERIOUS MAN/JOSE

(Drops the gun out of fear)

“I-I-I didn’t mean to. I was aiming for you not her”

A MEDIUM HAND HELD SHOT​ of Miguel’s father running towards Jose and grabs him
by his neck.

MIGUEL’S DAD

“You’ve killed her! I told you let’s sort this out and now you’ve killed my
wife!”

LONG OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT​ of Miguel’s father choking Jose in the distance
LEADING TO PULL FOCUS TO AN EXTREME CLOSE UP​ of Miguel in tear and the
violence continuing in the background but out of focus.

DOLLY SHOT AS THE CAMERA MOVES FORWARD TOWARDS THE DOOR​ then the door busts
in by a SWAT team who all storm in.

“EVERYBODY DOWN!”

CLOSE UP​ of Miguel’s dad as he sees the SWAT team about to ruin his chance to
get revenge on the killer of his wife.

EXTREME LOW ANGLE​ as Miguel’s father grabs the knife from his pocket.

MEDIUM SHOT​ of Miguel’s dad pursuing to stab Jose.

CLOSE UP​ of the knife stabbing Miguel in the neck.

DIEGETIC SOUNDS​ of the scream of Jose as he gets stabbed.

MEDIUM SHOT IN SLOW MOTION​ as The SWAT Police rises his assault rifle to take
down Miguel’s father.

LONG SHOT​ as the gun is fired and Miguel’s dad is hit and falls to his death.

SLOW MOTION CLOSE UP​ of Miguel as he is about to scream.

LONG SHOT​ of Carlos as Miguel begins to cry.

CARLOS:

(Hugging Miguel to comfort him)

“It’s alright. Everything is going to be fine.”

CLOSE UP​ of Miguel's hand as Carlos takes his hand.

CARLOS:

(Places item in Miguel's hand)

“This will be the key to your problems”

TILT UP​ to Miguel's face.

MIGUEL:

(Confused by Carlos’s actions)

“Your house key?”

MEDIUM SHOT​ of both Miguel and Carlos.

CARLOS:

“No this is OUR house key. Come on let’s get out of here.”

EXTREME CLOSE UP​ of Miguel’s eyes ​THEN FADES​ to older Miguel’s eyes.

INT. CARLOS’S HOUSE - MORNING

ZOOM OUT​ from ​EXTREME CLOSE​ UP to ​CLOSE UP​ of Miguel’s face.

MEDIUM SHOT​ of Carlos tying Miguel’s tie.

CARLOS:

“Look at you all grown up now. You’ve become a man.”

OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT​ of Miguel being helped my Carlos.

MIGUEL:

“Come on Papa im still me. Same old Miguel”

A CLOSE UP​ of a picture frame with a photo of Miguel and Carlos.

CARLOS:

“Oh come on your not accepting the change flow with it.”

CLOSE UP OF​ Carlos putting his hand on his chest.

THEN IT GOES TO A TILT UP​ to Carlos’s face as he seems bothered by something.

CARLOS:

“Excuse me Miguel I have to- ugh go to the… *coughs really ill like*”

CLOSE UP​ of the picture frame and Miguel and his father are in the background
out of focus.

MIGUEL:

(Catches his father as he falls)

“PAPA! What’s happening! PAPA PLEASE ANSWER ME!”

Voice becomes more ambient and faded.

MIGUEL:

“Papa please wake up!”

EXT. CARLOS’S GRAVE - AFTERNOON

LONG SHOT​ of Miguel standing in front of his father's tombstone, with his
bodyguards standing behind him.

CLOSE UP​ of Miguel looking sad with tears running down his face.

The area is quite and only has sounds of the surrounding nature.

OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT​ as Miguel stoops down

MIGUEL:

(Places one of Carlos’s cigar on his grave)

CLOSE UP​ of a female hands resting on his shoulder.

CLOSE UP​ of Miguel’s face as he turns to recognise who it is.

LOW ANGLE SHOT​ as the audience get their first view of this mysterious lady.

CAMILA:

(Smiles at Miguel with sympathy)

“I need to speak to you Mr. Santiago.”

EYE LINE SHOT​ of the mysterious lady view looking at Miguel.

MIGUEL:

(Confused and intrigued)

“My father was Mr. Santiago. My name is Miguel. Who are you?”

MEDIUM SHOT​ of Camila as she stoops down beside Miguel to be at his level.
 CAMILA:

(Speaks without making eye contact)

“I was your fathers, well I don't want to speak in disrespect, but I was your
fathers bribed officer and I wanted to give you something information he told
me to pass onto you.”
