Pride essay

I am so proud of myself and everything I have accomplished my final year

of high school. There is so many things I am proud of, so what I am most proud

of was my final project for my mental health class. For my final project we had to

do an art piece of what we have learn throughout the school year. So I had done

my art piece on a canvas and I painted it.

My art project for mental health is on depression. So I thought about

drawing a hand controlling the puppet and on the top on the canvas I wrote

“You’ve hurt me so much.” I decided to draw a puppet because the person is

controlling the girl and she’s depressed. I painted the background black and the

hand is black also and the girl is wearing a red rag and it looks torn up.

The painting I did has a story to it, through my parents back then. The

story of my painting is back then my dad use to control my mom a lot. He kept

my mom closed in the house and wouldn’t let her go out nowhere. My mom

would just stay home and clean the house and take care of her children. So my

mom started to get depression from being closed up at the house and she cried a

lot. Later on my mom got sick and went to the hospital.

Ever since my mom went to the hospital my mom had went to psychiatrist

and classes to regain her strength and force, so my dad wouldn’t control her no

more. This project was important to me because it was a part of my life and I

expressed it on a painting. On this project I’ve learned so much about what

depression is. I have pride on my painting I did on depression.
